Provo River Fly Fishing Report for 8/26/2012
The lower Provo River has been quite moody the last week. Since my last report not much has changed except the fish have been liking the san juan worm in a natural color and deep purple. The moss is out of control right now and will be for the rest of the year. The fish have been really liking the worm floated over the moss beds with a small bb sinker. The sow is still a staple as well as the John cotton Candy. The PMD’s are coming off weaker as you get further from the dam. The caddis’ are still coming off at dusk and that’s when it’s time for a neon green caddis larva and bright orange strike indicator to see your strikes. Also we have been fishing the John Stamos as the emerging caddis above the larva. If you want to dry fly there is a brief period from 7:45 to dark that the elk hair caddis in light tan has been taking some nice fish. Three more week and the tubers will be gone!
